Katie Sacca Brennan, MPH

 
 

Katie took her first trip to Malawi as a World Camp (now Access Health Africa) volunteer in 2007, and has been involved with AHA ever since. Katie served as a program coordinator in Malawi as a college student at Connecticut College, then as a graduate student at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, where she earned a graduate degree in Maternal and Child Health in 2014. Katie has been a board member since 2013, and was elected as Board President in 2018. In 2014-2015, Katie guided the Board through the strategic planning process that saw the organization shift focus from HIV/AIDS education to medicine and surgical support, and rebrand as Access Health Africa. Katie is dedicated to providing support and opportunities for the Malawi-based AHA staff to pursue community driven projects in line with AHA’s mission. Katie resides in New Orleans, Louisiana, with her husband, two children, and two dogs, and is an evaluation and research consultant.
