Dr. Newell is a board certified emergency medicine physician who currently lives and practices in Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Newell earned her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and obtained her medical degree from Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Newell’s passion for Africa was ignited during her first trip, in which she spent nearly a year volunteering and teaching math, science, English, and HIV/AIDS awareness & prevention practices to youth. Upon completing her emergency medicine residency, she has returned to Malawi annually to provide volunteer emergency medical services and to aid in the education of resident physicians, clinical officers, and staff of community health care centers.
